French photographer Bruno Aveillan interpreted this season’s concept entitled, “Back Home: a tale of Beauty and Poetry.” The shoot took place outside of Paris in a magnificent, but crumbling, 19th century Hotel Particulier. The mansion is filled with rich details typical of the Empire style, but it has decayed after years of being abandoned. Lush velvet curtains are in tatters, the painted ceilings and plaster walls peel off in dry sheets, and the crisp leaves from the surrounded forest have found their way inside the home. Though falling apart, this grand home has lost none of its beauty or allure. The magical ambience sets the stage for a woman returning to an old family home where the signs of time allow her to create new ideas and a new concept of beauty. Bruno’s signature flash work catches the light in an unexpected way, creating a blurriness that is romantic and soft.
